Twitter could very well find a sizeable revenue stream and turn a profit (*cough* via ads *cough*), but even if the company would not succeed with that, I’m quite optimistic about the outlook.
Why?
As it’s such a popular service (and by now to be considered infrastructure, without any real competition as of yet) and valued astronomically above its face value, at least Twitter would be acquired by Google, Microsoft or Facebook for a great lump of money, as they wants it (my precious… Oops! Sorry!). If the founders had accepted previous offers, Twitter would already have been acquired.
