Can Palm OS, Bada and BlackBerry OS compete with Android any longer? I don’t think so. And I’m sure most of you have already forgotten about LiMo and other Linux-based mobile platforms.
Also Apple should be worried, but Apple’s, Oracle’s and Microsoft’s strengths are their vast patent portfolios that cause real problems for Google and its Android partners. In practice, the patents cause the Android partners to feed these companies with lots of partly undeserved money. Microsoft has admitted patent licenses to companies using Android generate more money than licensing out Windows Mobile.
