Not all devices are equal from a communication point-of-view. To talk extremes: A device that streams video takes up 1000s times more bandwidth than a device that sends an alert only when an event occurs.
IPv6 is a given in any case, to accommodate the many more nodes/hosts, and it’s long overdue.
Cisco of course wants the performance need to increase steadily so they can sell more equipment. Nothing wrong with that. It’s their business.
