This article provides some insight into Microsoft’s mobile troubles.

A company is big if you have internal cartels, but I’ve seen the same at nearby larger companies. The protective guys on top are what we in Sweden call “small Popes”.

It mentions a dual-screen tablet. Dual-screen anything is generally not a good idea (redundant, expensive, brittle etc), but other parts indicate Microsoft is no official fan of tablets at all, despite the fact that Windows has supported tablets since Windows for Pen Computing released 1991 (!), and actually innovated tablets.
